The Solo Gal's Guide to Surviving Valentine's Day

{Via PopSugar.com}

So it's Valentine's Day tomorrow...and honestly, even if you are single, it can be an awesome day. You get to enjoy all that Valentine's Day has to offer (chocolates, romantic comedies, etc) without having to stress about anything. You deserve to spend the day showing yourself some love! Here are my tips for surviving Valentine's Day when flying solo:

1. Make special plans just for YOU

This pre-planning is key to a memorable Valentine's Day. Plan to spend brunch with your other single friends or even, plan a luxe breakfast for yourself. Pamper yourself throughout the day. Eat that Starbucks. Use a new Bath and Body Works body wash or Lush; really, do what makes you feel like your day is going perfectly. Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to give yourself the special treatment that you do not get every day. So splurge, relax, and enjoy the day.

2. Get cozy

If you don't have work, find a cozy place to chill. It could be at home in your bed or your coach. Or, if you feel like going out, head to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. Spend time in a place that makes you feel relaxed. And while there, do things that make you happy.

3. Netflix = Bae

I think this is self-explanatory. Honestly, if you have Netflix and your favorite snacks, there is no way that you will be unhappy. So splurge on Chinese Takeout and stay up all night binge watching a new show, re-watching an old show, or even watching your fave romance movies. (*cough* The Notebook *cough*)

4. Ditch social media for a bit (or at least, Facebook)

Trust me, when people go out on Valentine's Day, they like to brag about it on Facebook. Pictures of Valentine's Dates and presents are going to swarm your feed. Especially on Facebook. So if you are a bit jealous of your friends with Valentine's Day plans, it might be best to steer clear of social media.

5. Remember, you won't be single forever!

Just because you are single for Valentine's Day, does not mean that the apocalypse is upon us. There are billions of people in the world. One of these people will enter your life and everything is going to change for the better. So what if you haven't met him yet? Keep waiting to find the right guy because there will be a guy that will fall in love with you. Maybe not Christian Grey or Noah Calhoun or Chuck Bass, but someone that will make your world feel complete.

5.5. REMINDER: Ryan Gosling is off the market,
(but he's still my MCM even though it is Saturday)
